James from Moments to Life is a whimsical boy who often daydreams about becoming the best wedding photographer in Melbourne. On a languid afternoon, he fell into a quirk dream. He met a goddess, Aphrodite, at a lost of temple. Aphrodite spoke to James: “My darling, boy. I will bestow one treasury to achieve your dream.”
James, with determination in his eyes: “I want to be the best wedding photographer in Melbourne other than every treasury in your hands.”
Aphrodite laughed at him and said: “Fear not, mortal. I shall fulfill your request. You can select one gift from among three options. The most powerful cameras and lens crafted by my husband Hephaestus, The wisdom from my resourceful sister Athena, and the light bolt from my mighty father, Zeus.”
James asked: “May I have all three gifts?”
Aphrodite, with a teasing smile, responded: “Greedy boy, you can have only one.”
James answered: “My honor, I want the most powerful camera and lens crafted by your husband, Hephaestus.”
Aphrodite nodded and granted: “So be it.”
James ventured to the remote cave in the East, the abode of Hephaestus, the strong yet lame god. As James entered, Hephaestus stumbled toward him, presenting a camera crafted entirely from pure gold and a lens made of crystal – both with enchanting, everlasting qualities. These magical tools could capture wedding images of the utmost quality and could be used until the end of days.
Hephaestus warmly addressed James, saying, “Greetings, young lad. With this divinely-made camera and lens, there shall be no wedding photographer in all of Melbourne who can surpass your artistry. You are destined to be the very best wedding photographer in this city, and I bestow this gift upon you.”
James expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Hephaestus, accepted the remarkable gift, and departed the cave with the swiftness of the wind. Hephaestus, though physically challenged, made a concerted effort to call out to James, as his pursuit was hindered by his lameness.
James paused and turned back to Hephaestus, asking, “My god, is there anything I can do to be of service to you?”
Hephaestus replied, “I nearly forgot, dear boy. Here is a bonus gift I've enclosed in this golden box. You may open it when you find yourself facing a significant dilemma.”
James expressed his gratitude to Hephaestus once more and then left the cave; his heart filled with joy. With the divine camera and lens in hand, he set off for a wedding day. As he captured images of the bride and groom at Carlton Gardens, those present were enchanted by the extraordinary quality of his god-made equipment. People marveled at James's unique wedding photography style, and even fellow wedding photographers at Carlton Gardens paused their work to observe him in awe.
As James basked in the praises of those around him, and other wedding photographers admired his talent, he felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. Gazing up at the sky, he offered a prayer, saying, “Majestic goddess Aphrodite, I am immensely grateful for you and your husband Hephaestus's extraordinary gifts – the golden camera and flawless lens. Today, I am truly the best wedding photographer in all of Melbourne.”
However, as James revelled in his joy, the atmosphere around him began to change dramatically. The sky oscillated between periods of complete darkness and blinding brightness, creating a surreal scene.
In a moment of despair, James cried out to the far East, “My god, Hephaestus, I fear I can’t be the best wedding photographer in Melbourne! The lighting mocks me!”
In the face of this scornful voice from the sky, James gazed upwards, searching for the source. A figure with godlike features emerged from behind the clouds, its presence exuding a strength even greater than Hephaestus, and it possessed the advantage of not being hindered by lameness. In that moment, James pondered the possibility that this entity might indeed be a more powerful god than Hephaestus.
James responded with reverence, “No, my god, I offer my humble praise to you. I can only aspire to be the best wedding photographer in Melbourne with your divine power. But, my omnipotent god, may I be privileged to know your name?”
The god chuckled and revealed, “I am Zeus, the king of the gods, and I wield control over the light.”
James suddenly comprehended why the lighting had been so capricious and teasing. His quick thinking led him to remember the extra gift that Hephaestus had bestowed upon him, locked inside the golden box. With anticipation, he opened the box and discovered a god-made flash contained within.
In a bold move, James taunted Zeus, saying, “King of the gods, while you may control the lightning, I possess the god-made flash from Hephaestus. Your power pales in comparison. Depart from here.”
James activated the god-made flash, illuminating the scene with a consistent and beautiful light that enhanced his wedding photography. However, the happiness was short-lived, as the flash suddenly went dark. James attempted to revive it numerous times, but to no avail.
Zeus, standing amidst the clouds, asserted, “Mortal, did you truly believe you could capture wedding photos without my power? My light surpasses all others in the world, be it the sun, the moon, or your flash.”
James, humbled by Zeus's overwhelming power, surrendered and implored, “King of the gods, I beseech you. Can you spare me and share your power with me?”
Zeus replied, “Well done, young one. But you must offer a sacrifice in exchange for my power—either the power of the golden camera or the flawless lens. In return, I shall grant you my divine light.”
James deliberated for a moment and realized that even if he gave up the camera's power, he would still possess the god-made flawless lens.
In the end, James and Zeus struck a deal. James could once again use the natural light, but in return, his golden camera lost its radiance and transformed into an ordinary Sony A7 Mark 4.
James called upon the bridal party to relocate to another wedding photo location at Parliament House. The bride and groom were elated with James, as the combination of the flawless lens and the freely flowing light allowed him to capture stunning wedding photography.
In a moment of gratitude and reflection, James spoke to the sky, offering his thanks to Aphrodite, saying, “I thank you, my goddess, for everything you have bestowed upon me, except for the power from your husband Hephaestus. Zeus, your father and king of the gods, has granted me his power. With the flawless lens and the divine light, I stand as the finest wedding photographer in all of Melbourne.”
As James immersed himself in capturing photos with the bride and groom, an unforeseen dilemma struck. He suddenly found himself unable to speak a single word, leaving the bride and groom bewildered. Though he opened his mouth wide in an attempt to speak, no words emerged.
Once more, a scoff echoed from the sky, and James directed his gaze skyward to discover a figure concealed within the clouds. It became clear to him that this figure was neither Hephaestus nor Zeus. The shape bore a resemblance to a goddess.
The Goddess whispered to him, “Mortal, I have taken away your ability to speak to anyone except me.”
James felt a sense of confusion and shouted to the goddess, “Is it you, my majesty, Aphrodite? I am willing to sacrifice all the earnings from my wedding photography to you. Can you restore my ability to speak? My goddess, you promised me that I would become the best wedding photographer in Melbourne.”
The goddess chuckled and responded, “Foolish mortal. I never promised you that you would become the best wedding photographer in Melbourne. Open your eyes and see who I truly am.”
Emerging from the thick cloud, the goddess wore a golden helmet and wielded a golden shield and lance, radiating a commanding presence. Though she was superior and beautiful, James realized that her beauty did not match Aphrodite's.
In reverence, James praised the goddess and implored, “My goddess, your weaponry seems mightier than that of Zeus, the king of the gods. Your beauty, is surpassing Aphrodite's, is truly divine. Could you grant me the gift of speech? I need to communicate with the bride and groom to fulfill my role as a wedding photographer. I vow to use all the income from my wedding photography to build a new temple in your honor if you reveal your name to me.”
The goddess identified herself, saying, “I am Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and a sister to Aphrodite. Without my power and wisdom, you cannot converse with your clients, the bride and groom.”
James inquired, “What can I do to serve you?”
Athena replied, “You must sacrifice the power of the lens, the flawless lens crafted by Hephaestus.”
James hesitated, torn between his commitment to the bride and groom and the loss of his prized possession. However, he realized he had no choice.
James struck a deal with Athena, relinquishing the flawless lens in exchange for the return of his wisdom and the ability to communicate with the bridal party once more. The flawless lens transformed into a regular Sony G Master lens.
As James gazed upon his ordinary camera and lens, frustration surged within him. He felt like he had returned to his starting point, with only standard equipment. He cried out angrily to the sky, “How can I ever become the best wedding photographer in Melbourne? I am nothing but a mortal.”
In that moment, someone approached James as if carried by the wind and whispered words of wisdom and encouragement.
James looked at the figure and exclaimed, “Is it you, my most beautiful goddess, Aphrodite? Can you help me?”
Aphrodite used her soft voice to soothe James, saying, “Listen to me, my boy. I will guide you…”
